Introducing a piece of jewelry that we didn't want to make: VOTE necklace
Voting is a right and a privilege in the United States of America, and according to usa.gov website it reads, "In the U.S., no one is required by law to vote in any local, state, or presidential election. According to the U.S. Constitution, voting is a right and a privilege. Many constitutional amendments have been ratified since the first election. However, none of them made voting mandatory for U.S. citizens."
It is your right to get out and vote.
We are NOT here to tell you how to where, who to vote for, or where to vote-- we are just telling you that it is your right as an American citizen TO VOTE.
Vote Necklace
To be honest, this was a piece of jewelry we really didn't want to ever make.
We had a customer, gosh I wish I remembered her name so I could tell her we made this, who asked about this necklace.
Then we had a store ask if we could make this-- thank you Afikomen in Berkeley, California.
We said no both times.
Then, my daughter said, "are you making a VOTE necklace?" "No," I replied, "selling Judaic jewelry is putting ourselves out on a limb far enough, don't you think?"
To that she replied, "No-- this isn't political one way or the other, it's about our right to vote."
Well, that convinced us.
We scrambled and realized that we basically already had the design created in sterling silver with our LOVE necklace.
Love Necklace
All we were missing was the T.
VOTE
So, this election season, and all of those that follow-- remember it is your right to vote.
And if you love this necklace, if you want your voice to be heard-- VOTE!
