Help! My Evil Eye Broke and Why We Aren't Shedding a Tear - Alef Bet by Paula

Most people would be upset over a broken evil eye.

    I am not.

I know you're probably thinking-- "what a terrible business lady to say it's great that your amulet cracked-- it's wonderful your evil eye bracelet broke!"

    Here's why.

An evil eye is an amulet that is designed to watch over and protect you.

To guide you and make sure that everything in your life is "good."

    Colorful evil eye bracelets

Just think about it, if something harmful is coming in your direction and there is a barrier in the way to absorb it, isn't that what you want?

It's like when you were a kid, and you insisted on sitting in the passenger front seat of car, and your mom would throw her arm over you (despite the seat belt) to protect you. She was there to put a barrier between you and the possible accident.

We don't want any harm or evil intent coming our way, and for sure not to do damage to our loved ones.

The truth of the matter is, wearing an evil eye, especially during a pandemic, in the form of a bracelet or a necklace protects your body, mind, and soul.

Hanging an evil eye in the home or place of business, watches over and prevents evil from coming into your house.

As beautiful as an evil eye, or a mal de ojo is, we want it to protect us.  To watch over us.  To be sure that no harm comes anywhere near us.

If you're curious about the origins of an evil eye, we have a very informative blog post that you'll enjoy reading.  Check it out: What is the meaning of an evil eye.

    So, do you agree?

Do you agree that you'd rather have an object, a lucky charm bracelet or a wall hanging take the brunt of the harm rather than you?

    I sure would!

You might also be wondering what to do with the broken amulet.

Some customers have buried them in their yard, others tossed into a body of water.  And we've heard of others using the glass to make mosaics.

Now, you might be thinking, simply because we are too, what if my evil eye bracelet is made of 14k gold and diamonds?  I am not tossing that out to sea!

We don't recommend you do either.  You can reuse the gold, the stones and create something new.

It's about making something new from what was.  Recreating it or disposing of it so the harm won't be coming back to you.

Just remember-- if you email us and say your evil eye bracelet broke, or your lucky blue wall hanging cracked and we answer you with, "that's great!" don't be alarmed.

I’ve had my glass evil eye hanging on a knob of my dining room for years. Today I bumped it and it fell, the string broke. The string was left hanging on the knob, broken, not from the knot but broke down the middle of the string.
Would it be ok to restring it and hang it again?
